Night walks are a series of social walks which we run during term, where we meet in the evening on a weekday and go for a short walk around Oxford. Walking in the dark provides a unique view of the city and its surrounding countryside, and it’s a great way to wind down in the evening after a long day of studies and work.
Everyone is very welcome, you do not need to be a member of the club to come on night walks (although there are other benefits to being a member).
In academic year 2022/23 the Night Walks will be advertised on weekly basis, in the Sunday Mailout.
Here are the previous walks we have done:
Night Walks Michaelmas 2020
Night walks are run on evening during the week in term time, typically consisting of a short 1-2 hour walk in the dark. They are open to anyone and no membership is required, however due to the social distancing regulations we used a sign-up system with a maximum capacity of five participants (plus the leader). Sign-up for walks on each weekend opens on Monday of each week, and will be circulated via our mailing list.
During Freshers’ week this year, we ran a series of ‘Fresher night walks’ taking place on each weekday, but during term we aim to have one a week. Please note the following schedule is tentative; further walks, modifications and further details will be added as the term progresses.
