Starting from Goring in the beautiful Thames Valley, which inspired E.H. Shepherd’s illustrations
to the “Wind in the Willows”, we will climb the foothills of the Chilterns. Once we’re up there, the path continues to Woodcote, traversing the College Woods. Depending on our mood, we can head further north to Ipsden or just catch a bus at Woodcote.
This walk will be a navigation and map reading training walk. We will learn to interpret the OS Explorer map’s symbols and get introduced to different techniques helping if your exact position is unsure. No previous knowledge is required. Every participant will be provided with a paper copy of the map.
