Leaving the market town of Cirencester, we will head straight for the source of the River Thames. Having located it, we will follow it along the Thames Path down pass several villages and through the many lakes of the Cotswold Water Park. Depending on how everyone is feeling (and the amount of daylight remaining), we can either finish in South Cerney with its Norman era church; or we can push on to Cricklade, the first major town on the river Thames.

Note that we may be back in Oxford quite late. If people are interested/hungry, we could have dinner at a pub in Cricklade.

The full walk to Cricklade is 26km (16.5 miles) , which is somewhat longer than usual walks, but there is virtually no elevation change as we follow the Thames.
