Freshers’ trip to the Malvern Hills

Date: Sunday 7th October Join us for our first trip of the term – the Freshers’ Trip to the Malvern Hills. The Malverns are a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and offer panoramic views of the Severn and Wye Valleys, and parts of thirteen counties. The walk will feature the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Beacons, with the latter being the highest point in the Malverns and for good reasons a large Iron Age hillfort. We will then have the option to have dinner in a local pub. Everyone is welcome, hope you can join us! Note that this area is hilly, so expect quite a bit of ups and downs. The walk won’t be a big challenge, but neither will it be a walk in the park. Meet: Oxford Train Station Time: 9:40 (for 9:55 train) Return: 7 pm (or later if we want to eat in Great Malvern) Distance: 14 km Cost: Train ticket £21.20 (£14 with railcard or group discount) Bring: Packed lunch, waterproofs, walking boots Leader: Konogan Beaufay (konogan.beaufay@lincoln.ox.ac.uk)
