Freshers’ Trip to the Malverns

Date: Sunday 13th October Join us for our first local walk of the term – the Freshers’ Trip to the Malvern Hills. The Malverns are a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and offer panoramic views of the Severn and Wye Valleys, and parts of thirteen counties. With evidence of settlers dating back from the early Bronze age the Malverns are rich with history, and being formed of some of the oldest rocks in Britain they are also of great geological interest. Most importantly, it is an excellent place for walking! Starting from Great Malvern we will scale and explore these hills, with an option to have a drink or stop for dinner at a local pub at the end. Everyone is welcome, and no sign-up is necessary. The area is hilly so be prepared for some ups and downs, but we’ll take it easy and go at a leisurely pace. Please come in comfortable walking shoes and bring waterproofs, a packed lunch, and plenty of water.
