Saturday 10th February (end of 4th week)
This walk follows the river Thames, slowly winding through the meadows towards Abingdon. We pass the formidable ruins of the Benedictine Abingdon Abbey overseeing the river, and complete our journey in Abingdon, St Edmund’s birthplace.
After arriving in Abingdon, we plan to have a pub lunch before returning to Oxford by bus, although it is possible to return immediately. The menu can be found here: www.thenagsheadonthethames.co.uk/
Please note that this walk may be muddy in places, so walking boots/shoes are strongly advised.
