Ridgeway Part III – The Thames and the Chilterns

Sunday 24th November The Ridgeway series continues for part three, which will take us along the Thames and up into the Chilterns. Starting at Goring, we will follow the river upstream to Mongwell, from which we will turn into a small path which runs next to an ancient Grim’s ditch. From there we will follow a section of the Icknield Way, an ancient track road dating back to the Anglo Saxons. Everyone is welcome regardless of if you’ve come to the previous parts, but please be warned that this walk is a fair bit longer than usual! Please make sure to bring enough food and water to last the day, and to come with suitable footwear as it will be quite muddy. See (ouwc.org/2019/10/long-walks-michaelmas-2019/) for more information on these longer walks.
