Most Weekend Trips and Minibus Day Trips need to have at least two minibus drivers before they go ahead, so drivers are vital to the club. Trips that don’t have enough drivers have to be cancelled, and we are often too short of drivers to be comfortable.
In order to drive minibuses for the club, you need to have taken the university minibus assessment, which allows you to drive any minibus (for any club) under the Transport Scheme. This course is free to OUWC members, and as an OUWC driver you are guaranteed a place AND a place for a friend on all club trips that you drive on.
So, if you:
- are aged 21 or over,
- Have had a full car driving licence for at least two years
- The driving license should also be clean, but minor endorsements may be acceptable – contact secretary@ouwc.org
- Are allowed to drive minibuses in the UK
- Please follow these instructions to confirm your eligibility to take the university minibus course. If you are allowed to drive in the UK, you are very likely to be eligible.
…then it would be great if you’d consider taking the course and giving us much-needed help with driving! If you are interested in taking the course, contact secretary@ouwc.org and they’ll handle the admin for you!
