Boars Hill and Raleigh Park

Saturday 20th January (end of 1st week) Enjoy some of the best views of Oxford, as well as a stroll along the Thames. Whilst Matthew Arnold’s poem about ‘Oxford’s dreaming spires’ was supposedly inspired by the view from Boars Hill, some say the view from Raleigh Park is better. Come along this weekend, take in both, and decide for yourself. (Hint: bring binoculars) Please note this walk may be muddy in places, so walking boots/shoes are strongly advised. Meet: Outside Tesco Express, St Aldates Time: 10 am Return: Approx 3 pm Distance: Approx 11km, may be extended to 14km Cost: None Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch Leader: Matt Brown (matthew.brown@physics.ox.ac.uk)
