Spectacular coastline to the south of Oxford is an ideal setting for a summer trip which aims to combine good quality walking with a generous amount of beach time. You're promised fun summer holiday vibes on this jam-packed yet supremely chilled out seaside jaunt. After the short drive to Southampton on the Saturday morning, we'll catch a Red Funnel ferry to Cowes on the Isle of Wight (£11 fee included in the trip price) and still have time for a 4-5 hour walk. That night we're in a comfortable new Youth Hostel called Brighstone on the south west of the island. On Sunday we can enjoy a walk in a different region of the island before heading to Lulworth Cove on the Isle of Purbeck (note that this 'isle', on the mainland, is not in fact an island in any shape or form!). We can then relax with a barbecue at the nearby Youth Hostel. A walk to Durdle Door along the Jurassic coast is a must. On the final day we'll head to the Isle of Portland for its wonderful views and a visit to Portland Bill lighthouse. We would expect to return to Oxford at around 11pm on the Monday.
