If you have already seen all overcrowded touristic places, join this walk to see nice sites rarely visited by the touristic masses. We will start at the amazing Reading train station (it really is =)), then head to central Reading to view both the historic, recently renovated Abbey ruins as well as the prison, where Oscar Wilde was detained. Joining the Thames path via the River Kenneth, we will continue to Sonning and finish our walk in the late medieval-early-Renaissance town center of Henley-on-Thames.
Please consider this is a December walk. It will be muddy and it is very likely to rain. Please do bring a raincoat, gloves, waterproof trousers and warm clothing. It is also a good idea to have another set of clothes with you to change in case your original ones get wet.
The walk leader will bring 2 copies of the map, so feel free to use this walk as an opportunity to train your navigation skills. A person trained as seeing guide for visually impaired people will take part in this walk.
