The Royal Forest of Dean is an area of outstanding natural beauty on the border between England and Wales, bounded by the valleys of the rivers Severn and Wye. Formerly a royal hunting forest, for centuries it was valued for its resources of iron, stone, coal and timber. The walk is about 18km long, on easy terrain.
