Home : Minibus day-trips : - Cambridge
At the end of 3rd week, we will have a minibus day trip to Cambridge and its surroundings.
The walk will start in the village of Hardwick, and follow the Harcamlow Way route along bridleways and minor roads into Cambridge via the village of Coton.
We hope to spend from about 1pm to 4pm in Cambridge. During this time, you would have the option of a served meal (e.g. Eraina Taverna, see
lunch menu), or bring/buy a pack lunch if you prefer more time sightseeing. Things to do include visiting the colleges of Cambridge University, or the Fitzwilliam Museum, and you will have no difficulty filling the three hours. Or there's punting, a different experience from in Oxford because of the large number of colleges which back onto the river -- though please don't fall in the river for sake of your minibus companions on the way home!
We will then return to Hardwick via the same route. This is a gentle walk, although the 60 metres or so of ascent involved is something approaching mountaineering by Cambridgeshire standards! We would also stop for
(another) pub meal on the way home.
