Home : Weekend Trips : - Brecon Beacons / Navigation Training
Join Barbara and Jaya John in exploring the Brecon Beacons, the closest mountains to Oxford and the highest in southern Britain. We’ll be staying at the cosy Godre Pentre cottage in the centre of the national park, giving us access to the Black Mountain (west), the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains to the east.
This trip is also the club’s navigation training opportunity for this term. The leaders will provide training in how to know where you are and where you’re going in the mountains, both the theory behind it and practical work on the hill.
Please note that the trip includes mountain walking: on at least one day, there will be a significant ascent, with some rough and rocky ground.
