Magnificent Malverns

Sunday 13 June

Leader: Nakul Krishna

A walk of about 20 km in the Malvern Hills, including the Worcester Beacon, the highest hill in those parts with some great views over Wales.

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN DAY AND MEETING TIME

Join Nakul for a walk of about 20 km in the Malvern Hills, including the Worcester Beacon, the highest hill in those parts with some great views over Wales. Meet at Oxford railway station at 0850 to get the 0918 train. As it's a long train ride and trains are infrequent, our return to Oxford could be as late as 2100 (9 pm for those of you who don't speak 24-hour clock).

Bring a packed lunch - check the weather forecast and bring sunhat / sunscreen / rainwear accordingly.

As this is some distance from Oxford the weather may be different from here: here's the forecast for Great Malvern, though since we'll be in the hills above the town, the temperatures could be cooler than what the forecast indicates: http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/331

This walk is more demanding than most local walks, and will involve climbing some steep hills - you have been warned. Wear boots, not trainers.
