Cambrian Mountains (Mid Wales)

8th - 10th May (end 2nd week)

Area: Cambrian Mountains

Take this opportunity before exams start to visit the largely overlooked area of Mid Wales. From our base at Bryn Hafod deep in the Aran Mountains we plan to spend day 1 climbing Carair Idris with views over the Mawddach estuary and as far as Bala Lake. On the second day we plan to travel to the remote Plynlimon range on the shores of the Nant y Moch Reservoir for views down the river Rheidol, with its hydro electric scheme. Due to the hut’s Idyllic location, there is a 15 minute walk up to it. This means you need to bring torches and have those and boots ready in the minibus.
