Magnificent Malverns

Saturday 27th June (end 9th week)

The distinctive, narrow, north-south ridge of the Malvern Hills that rises unexpectedly from the pastoral land of the Severn Vale is a mountain range in miniature. The highest point is Worcestershire Beacon (425m), and walkers along the ridge enjoy views as far as Wales and the Cotswolds.

We will take a train to Ledbury and walk from there to the Great Malvern, the birth place of C. S. Lewis. Time permitting, we will visit the Great Malvern cathedral and see the chamber that inspired his wardrobe fantasy stories.
