The 3 Parks EPIC Trip

21st - 24th June (end 8th week)

They say that 3 is a magic number, and if it’s true, this promises to be a particularly magical trip... Visiting 3 National Parks, with 3 intrepid leaders (Andrew Peacock, Laura Roe, and John Seymour), for 3 days of fantastic walking amidst England's most spectacular scenery! Our first destination will be the Lake District, where you'll get the opportunity to climb England's highest mountain, Scaffell Pike (978m). Then we move to the Yorkshire Dales where the famous 3 Peaks (Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent, and Whernside) route will be an option for the more energetic. If we're lucky, we may get some more of the coveted Black Sheep Baaar Towels this year, and if we're very lucky indeed, an expert "Jogfer" may be on hand to explain how glaciation and the solution of limestone created the magnificent karstic landscape of gentle hills, caves, limestone pavements, and drumlin fields... Finally, there'll be a relaxed day in the Peak District, exploring the picturesque Manifold valley and the mysterious Thor's Cave, before returning to Oxford.
