Richard Campbell and Dave Cocks stride up to the magnificent mountains of the Lake District for the first club summer trip for some time. Staying in the comfortable Skyeside Bunkhouse, we'll be well placed to explore high peaks in the eastern fells of the National Park. Near Glenridding, Swirral Edge offers broken terrain for us to scramble up to Helvellyn (949 meters), which will hopefully be the focus of our attention on Saturday. If the visibility is good then spectacular views of Ullswater should be on display. Our agenda for the Sunday will be dependent on the weather and desires of the group.
