Freshers' Day Trip to Long Mynd

For this years Freshers’ event we take a coach from Oxford to Church Stretton in Shropshire to spend some wonderful hours of hiking.

The hiking distance is slightly shorter than the usual walks the club does, but offers a good possibility to get to know each other, to talk to ‘old’ club members and to enjoy British nature.

Starting from Church Stretton we will do a circular walk passing through Carding Mill Valley to the top of the plateau. We will pass by the highest point of the plateau, the Pole Bank (516 m (1,693 ft)), before returning over smaller hills back to Church Stretton.

Please make sure you bring all the equipment listed below:

See the equipment list for a fuller description of what you may need to bring. It is important that you bring worn-in walking boots (no trainers!). If you come to the meeting point without proper footwear for the trip we can refuse your participation in the trip. All participants have to be over 18 years old.
