Home : Local Walks : - Walking with William
After being crowned king of England at Westminster Abbey in 1066, William moved to consolidate his rule over Mercia and Northumbria. In 1068, he marched up this gorgeous stretch of the Thames, headed north, and built a castle at Warwick. We follow his route before enjoying the autumn colours on the Ridgeway.
