Home : Local Walks : - Freshers' walk
A new OUWC walking season begins! Let us start it at the Freshers’ Walk, short but packed with interesting sites as well as socially. Walk over Port Meadow – Oxford’s centuries-old public grazing land. Stop to feel the magic of Oxfordshire’s most enchanting village church (Archivist’s subjective judgement) and refresh yourself with water from the well just outside the church – little Alice did the same when she was there. Inspect the ruins of the Godstow Abbey, once a famous nunnery and a favourite destination of the more passionate among Oxford’s undergraduates. And most importantly, meet the other Walking Club folk, while walking or over a pint at the celebrated Trout Inn.
