Dartmoor Weekend Trip

22 - 24 October (end of 2nd week)

Area: Dartmoor

Dartmoor is a large area of open grassland, interspersed with a small number of forests. It is situated on the south-west peninsular, in the county of Devonshire. The hills in Dartmoor are mostly between 400m and 600m high and are usually topped with distinctive rock formations known as tors. We will be staying in Buckfastleigh, a small town on the south edge of the moors built around a (still active) Benedictine monastery. From there we will do two walks on the southern moors.
