Yorkshire Dales

17-19 November 2006 - End of 6th week

Join Christopher and Zing on this trip to the Yorkshire Dales: towering fells surrounded by a limestone landscape of lush green valleys with white cliffs and pavements, criss crossed with dry stone walls. We'll be staying at Dub-Cote Bunkhouse Barn, Horton in Ribblesdale in the heart of the National Park. The peaks of Ingleborough, Penyghent and Whernside are all within striking distance and we intend to tackle one or more of these on Saturday (depending on the weather). On Sunday we plan to explore the classic limestone scenery around Malham Cove. The area is not as mountainous as the Lake District or Snowdonia. However, the peaks do rise to over 700m and we may well encounter rocky and rough moorland stretches.
