Home : Local Walks : - Oxfordshire Way 6: Charlbury to Bourton-on-the-Water
The last part of the Oxfordshire way goes from Charlbury to Bourton-on-the-Water, in the Costwolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, known in particular for its pretty stone buildings. The route follows the Evenlode Valley and the Wychwood villages as far as Bledington — where there is an option to return to Oxford from nearby Kingham station (17km) — before ascending to Wick Beacon, and then down to the pretty town of Bourton-on-the-Water.
Return travel is via Moreton-in-Marsh, and depending on timings there may be options for a pub supper either in Bourton or Moreton, so please bring money for this if interested in doing so.
Note relatively early start time - apologies for this, but this is to allow for the walk being longer than in previous weeks.
