Oxfordshire Way 4: Islip and Kirtlington

Saturday 26 February (6th week)

The next section of the Oxfordshire way is just 9km from Islip to Kirtlington, from where there are buses back to Oxford. However, there are various options to extend the walk beyond Kirtlington, as those who wish prefer on the day. One option is to follow the Oxford Canal south as far as Kidlington. Another option is to continue along the Oxfordshire Way, then through the grounds of Blenheim Palace to Woodstock. Both are attractive walks, and in both cases the walk will be about 20km with return by bus.

Distance: 9km - 20km
Meet: Railway station 09:10 + see details below
Lunch: bring a packed lunch
Leader: Alan Iwi ()
Return: variable
Cost: outward train £1.20 with railcard; return bus variable, but likely to be well under £5 (estimate).
Travel details: Come to Oxford station in good time for a train at 0927. Buy single tickets to Islip. The leader will arrive in Oxford on another train, due at 0914, so please expect to meet the leader on the platform although the leader may also come to the ticket hall if in good time.
