Galloway Hills LONG Weekend

13th - 16th March (end 8th week)

Area: Galloway Hills

At the end of the term, we’re going on a LONG trip to the Galloway Hills in south-western Scotland, for the first time in 6 years! This wilderness area features several ranges of hills rising over 800m, dotted with lochs. It is known for being rather rough going and somewhat lacking in paths. Once the scene of major battles, the area is rich in colourful place-names such as the Rig of the Jarkness, the Range of the Awful Hand and the Nieve of the Spit. We’ll be staying at the Scout Hall in Gatehouse of Fleet nearby. Join Jaya John, Jakub and Barney for what promises to be a memorable trip!

Please note, we will be sleeping on the floor in the Scout Hall, so sleeping mats are a must. The club has a certain number of foam mats which may be borrowed.
