Galloway Hills Weekend Trip

31st January - 2nd February (end 2nd week)

Scotland's secluded Galloway Hills have been described as a walker's paradise. In fact, they were a haven for Robert the Bruce whilst he was taking refuge from the English! Experienced walkers will take delight in place names such as Rig of the Jarkness and Neive of the Spit as the group tackles southern Scotland's highest hill, the Merrick (843 metres). Staying at Craigencallie Outdoor Centre, participants must expect a late arrival back to Oxford and Scotland's notorious weather! Trip Leaders Chris Gribble, Barney Stratford and Andrew Tyrrell are looking forward to their own mini Burn's night.
