Purbeck Coast

24 October (end 2nd week)

Area: Dorset

From the beautiful Purbeck hills to the stunning coastline, this region of Dorset has a wonderful variety of landscapes. We will begin in Kimmeridge and will walk through the Purbeck hills towards Corfe Castle. This was built by William the Conqueror and dates back to the 11th century. This makes it one of the first stone castles in the UK. Along the way, we will pass Swyre Head, the highest point of the Purbeck hills and one of the best views of the coastline.

We will then walk along the South West coastal path back to Kimmeridge Bay. This region has Jurassic shale cliffs and has many fossils from this period.
